CY-NCx500-02 MK2 is an extremely powerful stereo digital power amplifier in our regular series, capable of driving high performance loudspeakers with demanding power requirements. Powered by 2 pcs of Hypex's latest generation Ncore NCx500 modules, this amplifier delivers extraordinary musical performance with its superb detail, resolution and soundstage, as well as ultra-low noise distortion and extremely fast transient response. To get the most out of the NCx500's capabilities, our custom-designed BB-SPL7879C-2F buffer board features the cutting-edge Sparkos Labs SS78XX and SS79XX discrete voltage regulators, eliminating any unnecessary noise and interference before the power reaches the Op amps of this buffer board, thus supplying extremely stable power to the module. Combined with a choice of Op Amps such as Sonic Imagery or Sparkos Labs operating in full Class-A, the sound is richer, denser and more delicate while adding warmth and depth. Benefiting from the continuous innovation of digital amplifier technologies over the years, our latest generation of amplifiers not only retains the unique sound characteristics, high efficiency power and lightweight size of previous digital amplifiers, but also provide sound quality comparable to traditional amplifiers on the market that are several times more expensive, whether they are Class-A, Class-AB or even other Class-D types.
To acheive the best possible sound from the CY-NCx500-02 MK2, the quality of the power supply to the buffer board is one of the key factor. After continuous research and testing on the power supply by our R&D team, the following three requirements must be met in order to bring its performance to the next level: first, the power must be stable; second, the power must be sufficient; third, the power must be pure. The first requirement has been fully accomplished by adapting discrete voltage regulators with the most powerful noise reduction capabilities, while the remaining two requirements are fulfilled by using our specially designed LPS-AUX02B-2H auxiliary linear power supply module. With two sets of internal power supplies, it independently powers the buffer board of each channel to secure that the Op amps of each channel obtain the most sufficient current supply. To ensure that the Op amps draw the purest and cleanest power in the entire power chain, each set of power supplies uses an audiophile-quality linear power supply to power the buffer board, which perfectly complements its discrete voltage regulators, bringing its power quality closer to perfection. In addition, a variety of efficient power management functions are also implemented, including the ability to control the power state of the main power supply and support for 12V trigger control switch functions. As for the main power, this amplifier in the Regular Series is supplied by a Hypex SMPS1200A700 switching power supply, which fully utilizes the potential of NCx500.
Introducing its dual-power supply version, CY-NCx500-02D MK2, to satisfy customers who cannot compromise on any music details. This model is a true dual-mono system to ensure that the power supply of each channel is independent and does not interfere with each other, so that when listening to songs with large dynamic ranges such as jazz or classical music, each channel has continuous of power supply. In the standard configuration of our regular series, each buffer board of both models comes with audiophile-grade Sonic Imagery 994Enh full-discrete Class-A dual Op amps, and all connectors are equipped with our carefully selected high quality components. Benefiting from internal structure of the modular configuration, Op amps can be replaced with higher grade Sparkos Labs SS2590 or Sonic Imagery 990Enh upon customers request. Not just limited to Op amps, customers can also choose to upgrade other components before shipment, including power IEC inlet, XLR Socket and speaker post as well as Neotech 7N UP-OCC copper internal cable and other accessories. In addition, the existing single-power system can be upgraded to a dual-power system in the future by adding another SMPS1200A700 switching power supply. Lastly, all of our amplifiers also employ a new symmetrical internal and rear panel layout to keep the internal wiring as short as possible.
